"And When We're Young" was composed just before leaving the states for Europe and was supposed to be included in the Chris Swanson project promised by producer/owner Bob Thiele if I did a Greek album first. "Greek Cooking" continues to haunt me but I finally did record the song, first with the European Rhythm Machine at the Lubiana Jazz Festival the day after RFK's assassination. I remember walking in the rain after the gig and on every corner there were candles and people weeping. There is a version for fans recorded on Oct 1 this year with strings from Stockholm and a '68 version from a German TV workshop. All this and the string arrangement too! We're working here!!!
