Phil Woods Discography

This “Complete (as we can manage) Discography” started with the Discography that Paolo Pangiarelli of Philology Records created for his first release in 1987: THE MACERATA CONCERT by the Phil Woods Quartet (Phil, Mike Melillo, Steve Gilmore and Bill Goodwin), recorded at Teatro Lauro Rossi on November 7, 1980. It was a beautiful boxed set: three LPs and a color booklet. The discography was at the end of the booklet. I used this as the model for Phil’s “Complete Discography” in his press kit and elsewhere since Paolo’s work appeared in print. Needless to say, this would not exist if it were not for him.

Over the years I have added to this as Phil has continued to record. Undoubtedly I have missed things and I am counting on you knowledgeable fans out there to help me correct any mistakes. I’d also like to know about reissues and such so I can add that to the information we have and share it. We are creating a new forum just for the discography, so go ahead and tell me where we need to supplement, and change, the listings. I’ll do what research I can and update wherever I find new information.
